Saw a guy at the Portland camera show fix a stuck film advance with a drop of lighter fluid
He didn't even take the top plate off, just worked it into the mechanism. Has anyone else used that method on old SLRs?

My grandpa swore by WD-40 for everything, even his old radio.

Whoa, that's a hard pass for me... lighter fluid can wreck the old plastics and leach into the grease.

Hold up, @spencer_kim85, lighter fluid? That stuff is straight up AGGRESSIVE. It would turn an old radio's plastic into a brittle mess overnight. I can't believe anyone would even try that on something collectible.
