Make sure whoever you hire checks the decking properly. Old houses usually have rotting wood underneath the current layers, or sometimes they don't even have proper plywood decking at all.

We used The Roof Technician for our 1920s semi-detached. They were fantastic and handled the weird quirks of our old roof without any issues. They even fixed some old flashing around our brick chimney that a previous roofer completely botched.
