A lot of people store their cars with the parking brake on and that's how you get stuck pads
Saw this happen at my uncle's shop in Fresno. A guy parked his Civic for 8 months with the e-brake pulled, and when he went to move it the rear pads had basically fused to the rotors. Cost him $310 for new pads, rotors, and a tow. Rust builds up on the rotor surface where the pad sits and glues itself on. Leave it in gear or park on flat ground with a wheel chock instead. Anyone got a better trick for long term storage that actually works?
