I finally stopped cutting stair stringers with a circular saw after 14 risers on a job in Dayton
I used to lay out every stringer and hog out the notches with a circular saw, finishing the corners with a hand saw, and I swore it was faster than dragging out the Skilsaw. Then last month a guy on my crew cut a whole set with a router jig he built from scrap plywood in about 20 minutes, and the notches came out dead square with no overcut to patch. How many of you are cutting stringers with a router jig, and did it take you a while to trust it over the old way?
