Pro tip: you don't need a powered miter saw for trim work, and the guys at my shop keep telling new hires otherwise
I've cut baseboard and crown for 11 years with a decent hand saw and a $20 miter box, and my joints close up tighter than anything coming off a screaming 12 inch blade. A kid on our crew in Tucson spent $600 on a slider and still had gaps at every inside corner because he never learned to cope. What do you all teach apprentices first, the power tool or the hand tool?
