I finally cleared a flue in an old Seattle house that had me stumped for a week.
The owner said it hadn't been cleaned in over 30 years, and the creosote buildup was like concrete. I ended up using a heavy-duty poly brush with a drill attachment, which finally broke through after three separate attempts. What's the toughest blockage you've ever had to deal with?

Seriously? That sounds like a normal Tuesday for any chimney sweep.

Oh man, that sounds brutal. I had one like that last year, a real brick-hard plug about two feet down. My regular rods just bounced right off. Ended up having to go old school with a heavy duty chain flail, just kept whacking at it from the top until it cracked. Took forever and my arms were killing me lol.
