Appreciation post: I finally looked at my gas bill after my neighbor knocked on my door
My neighbor knocked last Tuesday to tell me her January heating bill came in at $89 while mine hit $240 for the same size house, and I felt sick about it. I had been running the thermostat at 72 all winter because I thought that was just what it cost, but I swapped to a $30 programmable one set at 66 and the next bill dropped to $140. What's the one small house change that cut your energy use the most?
