That time at the con when my graded comic got crushed

I was at Megacon Orlando in 2019 and set my backpack on a chair for two minutes, not realizing a guy was sitting down on it. The CGC case stayed intact but the inner sleeve folded a corner on my Amazing Spider-Man #300. Has anyone else had a grading slab fail them in a dumb way like that?

The inner sleeve folding is the worst part because that case is supposed to be the last line of defense. I had a similar thing happen but with a different result, my slab cracked at the corner from a drop and the book inside actually got a color break on the spine. Honestly though, the bigger issue is people treat slabs like theyre indestructible armor, but the case just protects against normal handling, not a grown man sitting on it. You might want to check if the damage counts as a "defective holder" claim with CGC, theyve replaced slabs for stuff like that before even if the book itself got hurt.
