The $85 omnibus I bought for the art and 50 pages in I regret it

I picked up that big Batman omnibus from the flea market last month, it looked so good on the shelf. The seller said it was a steal at $85 and I trusted him. Turns out the binding is so tight that the pages barely open flat, text gets eaten near the spine. Tried to read it on the bus and had to hold it like a fragile baby, total pain. Now it's just a paperweight with pretty covers. Has anyone else fallen for a fancy collected edition that turned out to be a reading nightmare?

$85 for a book you can't even open flat? That's criminal.
