Fought with thermal paste application for years until I tried the pea method vs spreading
I used to spread thermal paste with a credit card (you know, like the old YouTube videos showed). After three CPUs hitting 85C under load in my office builds, I finally tested the pea method side by side. One drop in the center, let the cooler squish it down - temps dropped 8 to 10 degrees on the same i5-12600K. Spreading leaves air bubbles and uneven coverage every time, I swear it's just not worth the extra step. Anyone else had better luck with the pea method or do you still spread it?

Yeah nah I still spread it, but I use way less than I used to.
