I was dead wrong about cheap curing blankets
Used to think you had to drop $80 on the name brand blankets or you were asking for trouble. Tried a $15 harbor freight special on a driveway pour last August in the 90 degree heat and it held moisture just as good. Anyone else find a budget tool that actually works better than the expensive stuff?

That harbor freight blanket might hold moisture fine, but I've seen cheaper ones break down way faster and leave fibers all over the concrete, which is a pain to deal with. I'll still pay a bit more for something that I know lasts through more than one job.

Oh, I have to admit I used to think that way too. I always went for the cheapest option at Harbor Freight and figured if it lasted through one job I was fine. But last year I had one of those blankets just start falling apart mid-pour and I was picking little fibers out of the concrete for hours. It was a real headache. Now I see your point about paying more for something that holds up and doesn't make a mess. You've definitely changed my mind on that.
