Switched from hard trowel to power float on big pads, never going back

Used to finish every warehouse slab by hand with a 36 inch mag, took me two days and my knees hated me. Now I run a 48 inch power float on anything over 10,000 square feet, like that job in Fresno last month. Difference is night and day, the surface density is way better and I finish in one pass. Anyone else make the jump and notice their slab tests coming back stronger?

I read somewhere that the air entrainment actually comes out more even with the power float too, which would explain why your core samples are looking better. That Fresno job must have been a beast to do by hand, glad you found a way to save your back.
