Appreciation post: my grandfather's 1968 moon lander story made me rethink the whole hoax debate
My grandfather worked at a small machine shop in Wichita, Kansas back in 1968, and he made brackets for the Apollo program. He showed me a signed NASA thank you letter from 1969 when I was 14, and that letter is what got me into space stuff in the first place. Now I see people on here saying the landings were faked, and I get why, the footage looks weird and the gov lied about plenty back then. But here's the thing, my grandpa was a guy who complained about everything and would've told me if it was BS. He died in 2010 still proud of those brackets, and I honestly can't square that with a hoax this big. On the other side, people point to the Van Allen belts and say the math doesn't add up, and maybe they're right about some of it. So I'm asking, do you think a huge secret like that could stay quiet for 50 plus years with thousands of workers involved? Or do the small personal stories like my grandpa's actually count as proof?
