Bonding agent ate through my client's nail wraps, 3 week nightmare

Used a cheaper bonding agent from a supply store in Fresno last month. Thought it was the same as my usual brand. Applied it under a gel overlay on a regular client. Next day she texts me, the wraps are lifting and turning yellow. By day 3 the whole set came off with weird brown streaks on her natural nails. Took two sessions to fix the damage. Turns out the pH level was way off for wraps. I checked the label after, it said for acrylic only, tiny print on the back. Anyone else get burned by a product swap like this? How do you vet new supplies before using them on real clients?
