Blew $60 on a soundbar for my apartment, and now I can finally hear what people are whispering in movies
I live in a thin walled place in Austin so I always kept the TV volume low and just dealt with muffled dialogue for like a year. Dropped $60 on a cheap Vizio soundbar during a sale and suddenly I caught a whole plot point in a thriller I'd watched twice already. My neighbor hasn't complained once either, which honestly shocked me. Now I'm wondering what else I've been missing, do any of you run subtitles on purpose even with a decent setup?

Did you see that study about how like half of people under 35 keep subtitles on all the time now? I started doing it after reading about it and honestly I catch way more jokes and little details even with the volume up. My gf hates it though so we compromise and only turn them on for British shows.
