A librarian in Tulsa fixed my whole plot hole with one question

I was stuck on chapter 4 for like a month. The MC needed to find a hidden letter but there was no reason for her to look in the right spot. I was complaining about it at the library while picking up holds, and this older librarian overheard me. She just said, "What does she want more than the letter?" And that was it. I built the whole scene around my MC snooping for something else entirely, and she stumbles on the letter by accident. Took me maybe 4 hours to rewrite after that. Has anyone else had a stranger unknowingly solve their writing problem? Where was it?
