My neighbor's 8 year old called my fantasy world 'boring' and I'm still thinking about it
She said my elves were too perfect and asked why nobody ever had to go to the bathroom in my stories. It made me realize I've been writing characters that feel more like cardboard cutouts than people with real problems.

Hell yeah, I totally get what you're saying. It's not even about the music or the band being old, it's the whole atmosphere around it. Like, kids today grew up with everything being digital and instant, so they miss out on the slow burn of finding a cool record store or the smell of a dusty concert flyer. You can't just download that feeling from an app, you know? It's a bunch of little things that add up to this vibe that's hard to explain unless you lived it.
