Warned my crew against the $8 gas station multi tool for a year, then mine saved a job in Tulsa
I have told every guy on my crew to skip those cheap folding multi tools at the register. The steel is soft and the drivers strip out on the first stubborn screw. Two months ago I forgot my bag at home and grabbed one out of desperation at a truck stop outside Tulsa. That little thing cut a jammed hose clamp, pried a stuck panel, and tightened a loose mirror arm before lunch. The pliers finally snapped a month later, but by then it had already paid for itself ten times over. Now I keep two in the truck and still feel weird about it. Anybody got a cheap tool they talked trash about until it bailed them out?
