I finally gave in and tried the 'five minute rule' for chores

I always thought the idea of just doing a task for five minutes was too simple to work. Today, my kitchen sink was a mess and I felt too tired to clean it. I set a timer on my phone and just started. I got the dishes done and wiped the counters before it even went off. It turns out starting is the hard part, not the work itself. Has anyone else found a trick like this that actually cuts through the 'I don't want to' feeling?

Read about something similar called "habit stacking" where you tie a new small task to an existing routine. Like wiping the sink after you brush your teeth. It kinda tricks your brain into just doing it.

Hey @miles825, so does that mean you're actually doing it now, or just reading about it?
