Question about the 2 minute trick that got me meditating again after 4 failed apps
I kept quitting meditation apps after about 3 days each time, mostly out of boredom and feeling like I was doing it wrong. Last Monday I tried something stupid simple instead: sit down, set a timer for just 2 minutes, and count my breaths on my fingers. That is it, no app, no cushion, no candles. I did it 5 days in a row at my kitchen table in Akron, which is 5 more days than any app ever got out of me. The weird part is that 2 minutes feels so easy that I do not dread it at all, and twice I ended up sitting there for 6 or 7 minutes on my own. Has anyone else had luck going embarrassingly small like this, or did you need longer sessions to feel anything?
