Guy at the TA in Amarillo told me to quit using starting fluid on 5.9s, and he was dead right

He said the ether washes the cylinder walls and kills rings on cold starts, and after I tore down a 12 valve with 180k that had been huffed every winter I stopped arguing. Anybody else seen a motor eat itself from too much of that junk?
