My intake boot went from cracked and whistling to quiet after 2 wraps of self fusing silicone tape
I was chasing a boost leak on my 7.3 for two weeks and found a 3 inch split on the underside of the boot that I could not see from the top. Wrapped it with self fusing silicone tape from the hardware store, about $9, and the whistle and the black smoke both went away on the test drive. Anyone know if that stuff actually holds up to heat cycles long term, or am I just buying time until the new boot shows up?
