Tried ATF in the fuel tank on my 12 valve and the mileage thing nobody warns you about
I dumped a quart of ATF in the tank of my 12 valve last fall after an old timer at the truck stop in Abilene swore it would clean the injectors and smooth out the idle. It did quiet the motor down some, but my fuel filter plugged up at 400 miles and I limped it home sucking air, so now I can't tell if it cleaned anything or just loosened a bunch of junk loose. Any of you run ATF or Sea Foam in the fuel and actually see a gain, or is this one of those things that just makes us feel better?
