Appreciation post: the free Sketchbook app beat my $200 art program for loose sketching
I grabbed Autodesk Sketchbook on a whim last month after my $200 program kept lagging on my 6 year old laptop during quick gesture drawings. Turns out the free one loaded in like 2 seconds, and my lines actually felt looser instead of that stiff, overworked look I kept getting before. I get why people swear by the paid stuff for pro work and layers and all that, but for warmup sketches and practice it was no contest for me. So which side are you on, does the free tool hold you back, or is the price tag mostly just hype? Curious if anyone else switched and noticed their sketches got better.
