Saw a guy at the Cleveland Museum of Art sketching on a tablet, made me rethink digital drawing
I always figured tablets were cheating compared to real pencil work, but watching him build up layers of color that changed with the light in the gallery was wild. Anyone else changed their mind about digital after seeing someone use it live?
Watched a guy do chalk art on the sidewalk outside a coffee shop last summer and it hit me the same way. He kept stepping back ten feet to check the whole thing, then walking up close to add tiny details you'd never see from far away. The weird part was how the sun moving across the concrete changed which colors popped, so he kept adjusting stuff that was already "done." That taught me more about layering and light than any class I ever took. Digital or chalk or pencil, seems like the real skill is knowing when to step back and when to get close.
