That 4K file took 8 hours to render and nobody cared

I pulled an all-nighter finishing a 3 minute animation for a client, 4K with heavy particle effects. Uploaded it to the showcase, and the engagement was basically zero. Meanwhile a sketch someone did in 20 minutes got 500 likes. I went digging through the analytics and found that full render was only viewed for 12 seconds on average. Is there any point putting in the render time when the audience just scrolls past? Has anyone else seen this pattern with high effort pieces vs quick ones?
