Thought a shaky timelapse was just my bad tripod until a guy in Tulsa asked what frame rate I record at
I do timelapses of my oil paintings and the first 20 seconds always looked jittery. I blamed my cheap tripod and almost bought a $200 fluid head. Then a guy named Ray at a Tulsa art walk asked what frame rate I shoot at, and when I said 24fps he told me that is the problem. Speed painters should record at 30fps and drop frames in post so the light and hand movement stay smooth. Switched it up for my last canvas and the whole clip finally plays clean, what frame rate are the rest of you painting timelapses at?
