My neighbor said WD-40 would fix my sticky shifter, and it did for about 3 days
He swore by it for 20 years, but the gunk came back way worse once the oil dried out, so I ended up pulling the cable and flushing the housing with degreaser instead. Anyone got a lube they use for shifters that doesn't turn into paste after a month of riding?

WD-40 fixing anything for 3 days is basically the free trial version of a real fix.
