A guy at the Columbus repair cafe fixed my soldering iron in 10 minutes and changed how I debug
I brought in a dead iron at the repair cafe on High Street 2 weeks ago and instead of just fixing it, the old guy walked me through checking the cord first with a $6 multimeter. Now I test the cheap stuff before I crack anything open, and it has saved me at least two teardowns. Anybody got a good checklist for the order you check things in?
