Hot take: I put a $3 kitchen sponge under the screen instead of foam and my prints came out cleaner
Tried it after my foam kept denting on a 4 color job last weekend because I was too cheap to buy the real platen foam, and the sponge gave way more even pressure with way less ink bleeding, so has anyone else swapped in random household stuff for platen padding or am I the only one raiding the kitchen for supplies?

A folded dish towel got me through a 6 color job last month when my foam turned to mush halfway through. The sponge thing makes sense though, way more give than that crumbly platen foam.
