My neighbor watched me burn through 3 screens on one poster run and asked why I was flooding the ink like I was painting a fence
I was out in the driveway printing a run of 20 show posters and my neighbor wandered over with his coffee. He used to print shirts in a shop back in the 90s and he asked why I was pushing ink through like I was painting a fence instead of pulling it with the screen just off the paper. I had been flooding every single stroke and my edges were mush, which is why I kept losing details and blaming my emulsion. Switched to a light flood and one firm pull and the same screen gave me 19 clean posters out of 20. Anybody got a rule of thumb for how much ink is too much when you're printing on paper instead of cotton?
