Unpopular opinion: draw your dims in model space instead of paper space
Everybody in my office says keep all your dimensions in paper space, and I did that for 2 years. The problem was every time the viewport scale moved even a little, I had to hunt down and fix the dims one by one, and it ate a whole afternoon on a 60 sheet set for a clinic in Tempe. So I tried something different. I set up a dim style locked to the viewport scale, drew everything in model space, and the same clinic set took me 40 minutes less. When the architect pushed the grid 6 inches over, my dims just updated on their own. Now my lead is telling me I have to switch back because it is not how the office does it. Has anyone else run into a shop where the old way is the rule no matter what?
