Finally cleared that 3-foot clog in the intake pipe near Baton Rouge
Last month I spent three shifts trying to dig out a buildup of roots and silt that kept killing our suction, even after I tried the standard jetting trick. Eventually I borrowed a 50-foot sewer camera from a buddy and found a hidden snag in the bend, then worked it loose with a modified drag bar. Anybody else ever have to jury-rig their own tools to get past a stubborn plug like that?

Yeah that camera trick is smart, most guys don't think to look past the obvious spot. Jetting only works if the blockage isn't packed in with roots or silt like you found. Your modified drag bar idea sounds like the kind of fix that saves a ton of headache once you figure it out.

Did you ever try a different head on the jetter to break up that packed silt first?
