Realized my cutterhead speed was robbing the pump after a slow week in Galveston
We had a stretch of three days at a marina job near Galveston where production just crawled. Swinging the ladder, adjusting swing speed, checking the pump, all normal stuff. Finally I checked the cutterhead RPM against the pump load and saw it was spinning about 15% too fast for the material we were in, that thick clay mix. Dropped the RPMs and adjusted the ladder angle a bit, and our hourly output almost doubled by the next morning. Anyone else ever find that running the cutterhead slower actually helps the pump keep up, or am I reading this wrong?

Ha! So the cutterhead was just out here speedrunning the job while the pump was stuck in a loading screen.
Makes total sense though, that thick clay dont flow like the sandy stuff, so you gotta match the munch rate to what the suction can actually handle.
Sounds like you found the sweet spot, now just gotta keep the marina folks from dragging you into a shoreline debate before you can enjoy the chill vibes.
