TIL greasing the ladder rungs with cheap bar soap saves my wrists on long jobs
Been running a cutterhead in the Tennessee River for about 6 years now. Climbing up and down the ladder 20 times a shift was killing my hands. One old timer told me to rub a bar of Ivory soap on the rungs every morning. Took 5 minutes and now my grip is solid even with muddy gloves. The soap rinses off in rain but a quick swipe fixes it. Anyone else do something weird to protect their grip out on the deck?
