Frozen ravioli with canned sauce vs. 20 minute homemade, which side are you on?
I saw a post the other day from someone bragging that they make fresh pasta every Tuesday, and then my neighbor admitted she uses pre-made ravioli and jarred sauce on her busiest nights. It got me thinking, is the whole point of a weeknight dinner just getting food on the table, or does it have to feel like you actually cooked something? I've tried both this month, the frozen stuff takes 12 minutes and tastes fine, but the homemade sauce from scratch took me 45 minutes and the kids barely noticed either way. So which do you guys lean toward when you're dead tired, speed or the feeling of effort, and does anyone else feel guilty when they take the shortcut?
