Finally fixed a door dwell issue that stumped me for 2 days

Been chasing an intermittent door reopen on a 1999 Dover at a condo in Cleveland. Turns out the limit switch cam was worn just enough to skip every 15th cycle or so. Replaced the cam and it ran 200 cycles straight on my meter. I see young guys swapping whole controllers for this same symptom. Anyone else ever find a simple wear part hiding behind a ghost fault?

Start with the smallest moving part and you'll usually find the real problem. That's how it goes with my car too, the check engine light was on for months and every shop wanted to swap the whole sensor bank. Turned out it was a corroded ground wire on the battery terminal, a 10 cent fix. Same thing with my washing machine, it kept stopping mid cycle and the repair guy said I needed a new control board. I cleaned the lid switch contacts and it's been fine for two years. We always jump to the complex answer first when the simple one is staring at us. Good on you for digging past the obvious.
