Vent: I always added the eggs one at a time to my cake batter like the recipe said

My aunt watched me do it last Thanksgiving and said honey why are you scrambling them first before adding. She whisked them in a cup then poured and the texture was totally different. Anyone else have a basic step they missed for years?

Watched my grandma do the same thing with meatloaf once. She always mixed the ketchup and breadcrumbs in a bowl first while i just tossed everything in the pan. Took me YEARS to figure out why hers was way more moist.

I mean, is it really that serious though, @kair65? Like yeah, mixing wet and dry separately helps, but i've tossed everything in the pan and had it come out just fine too. Half the time i just eyeball the breadcrumbs and ketchup anyway and nobody's complained yet. Maybe it's just me but i feel like people overthink meatloaf way too much.
