My phone's battery was dying fast until I checked the screen brightness
I mean, I kept thinking my phone was just getting old, but after a trip to Seattle last month I looked at the battery usage. The screen was using over 60% of the power because I had the brightness cranked all the way up from being outside. I turned on auto-brightness and now I get through a whole day easy. Has anyone else found a simple setting that made a huge difference like that?

Auto-brightness is a game changer. My old phone was doing the same thing, draining in a few hours. I found the same setting after weeks of frustration. It feels obvious now, but you just don't think to check it. That one switch basically doubled my battery life.

Doubling battery life sounds like a huge stretch. My phone's auto-brightness just makes the screen annoyingly dim indoors. It might save a little power, but not enough to stop me from needing a charger by dinner. Most battery drain comes from apps running in the background anyway. That one setting feels like a tiny fix for a much bigger problem.

Doubled my battery life" is what I tell myself after turning off the one game that was actually killing it.
