My car keys vanished and reappeared in the same spot an hour later

I was leaving for work yesterday morning and put my keys on the kitchen counter in my apartment in Denver. I turned around to grab my bag, and when I looked back, they were just gone. I tore the place apart for an hour. I finally gave up and sat down on the couch, and there they were, right in the middle of the counter where I first put them. Has anyone else had something disappear and show up like that?

You tore the place apart for an hour... and they were just sitting there in plain sight? That's the kind of thing that makes you question your own eyes.
