My car keys vanished and reappeared in the same spot an hour later

I was leaving for work yesterday morning and put my keys on the kitchen counter in my apartment in Denver. I turned around to grab my bag, and when I looked back, they were just gone. I tore the place apart for an hour. I finally gave up and sat down on the couch, and there they were, right in the middle of the counter where I first put them. Has anyone else had something disappear and show up like that?
