Dust from a blown-in job got me wearing safety glasses every time
I figured they were just in the way until fiberglass bits flew into my eyes. Now I won't step on site without them. How about you guys, any gear you didn't value until a job went south?

Same here, used to skip them in my own shop thinking they were just annoying. Had a metal shaving flick right past my eyelid once and that was the end of that. Now it's just part of getting dressed for work, like putting on pants. Nope, not taking that chance again.

Yeah, making them part of getting dressed is the key move like @ninasingh said. I keep a cheap spare pair right on my workbench so there's zero excuse. Once you build that habit, putting them on really does feel as automatic as your pants.

Man, that's a wake-up call. @ninasingh, what was the one thing that finally made it click for you to wear them every single time for a specific job?
