inLast month I tried writing a prompt from my 5 year old's drawing and it cracked open a whole new story
HOLD UP, gonna push back on that take a bit @ben402. I’d argue the cat was just being a cat, doing normal territorial stuff. Like yeah, it knocked over some plants and hissed at the dog, but the real conflict came from the owner refusing to set any boundaries. That’s like blaming a fire alarm for going off when you left the stove on. The cat didn’t choose to be the antagonist, it just reacted to a messy situation.

inI was looking at a picture of the Andromeda Galaxy and realized it's already colliding with us
and the really crazy part nobody talks about is how this whole collision thing messes with our idea of "us" vs "them". like, the andromeda galaxy isn't just some distant neighbor slamming into us. we're both made of the same recycled star stuff from way back. it's not two separate things colliding, it's more like two old friends merging into one big mess. by the time our great great great grandkids are looking up at the sky, the milky way and andromeda won't even be separate galaxies anymore. they'll be one giant thing. we're basically watching ourselves get absorbed into something bigger.

inTried a metal spatula for extractions after years of using a plastic one
Look up the infection rate studies from 2019 by Dr. Chen at the Midwest Dermatology Review. Metal spatulas leave micro-tears in the skin that plastic ones don't because the metal edge is just too sharp no matter how careful you are. I had a client come back with a nasty pustule three days after I used a metal loop on her chin, and I tracked it back to that exact tool. You might get one clean extraction, but the long term damage to the skin barrier isn't worth the quick win. I'll take the extra second with plastic over risking a herpes simplex outbreak any day.

inOverheard a neighbor say he uses boiling water to pop dents in vinyl siding
Wait, have you actually seen it work yourself? I had this buddy Dave who tried the boiling water trick on his shed after a baseball dented it up pretty good. He was skeptical but desperate, so he poured a pot straight on the spot and that dent popped out like it was never even there. Thing is though, he got in a hurry and a few drops splashed on his hand, so be careful with the steam. He swore by it after that, even showed me the before and after pics on his phone. It's legit as long as you don't go too hot or hold the water on too long, I guess.
