inI just finished two tile jobs back to back with different underlayments and the results were night and day.
My cousin had a floor like that in his old apartment. You could see the carpet ripple when you walked across the room. The landlord kept saying it was fine until his foot went through near the fridge. Turned out the whole subfloor was rotten from a slow leak.

inA guy at the coffee shop said he never uses a power trowel on driveways
I mean, 20 years is a long time to not get a single callback. Something doesn't add up there.

inMy new Estwing rock hammer was totally worth the $45
A good hammer is key, but sometimes the right technique matters more than the tool itself. I've split plenty of creek granite with a basic hammer by finding the natural fracture lines. @the_reese might have better luck looking for those weak points instead of just hitting it. Spending more on gear doesn't always fix the problem if you're going at it the wrong way. What kind of strike pattern were you using on that granite?

inShowerthought: A guy in Denver offered me a vintage toaster as payment for fixing his fridge.
Bro I saw a whole documentary on this! People used to repair stuff back then instead of tossing it. My grandpa had a toaster from like 1962 that worked perfectly until his house got flooded.

inTIL a lady in Boise offered me a glass of lemonade and told me her dad was a sweep
It cuts through all the marketing fluff and gets to actual results. You see how they handle real pressure and unexpected problems. That's the true test of skill.
