A buyer said my product description was "too vague" and it took me 3 days to realize they were right.

Right, yeah, that exact thing happened to me with a set of hinges I was selling. I had them listed as "heavy duty" which I thought was enough, then a guy messaged me saying they were too light for his gate and asked for the gauge of the steel. I didn't even know what gauge it was at first so I had to go measure them with a caliper. After that I went back and put the thickness and the exact weight limit on every single hardware item I had. It's wild how one tiny missing detail can make you look like you don't know what you're talking about. Now I just assume people need every single spec written out or they'll call you out on it.

That one Wednesday where my code compiled on the first try

See, I actually hate when my code compiles on the first try. That "everything just clicked" moment? That's when I know I'm probably missing something big. Every time I've had a perfect first run, I end up finding a logic error two days later that breaks everything in production. I'd rather get the errors early and often, because then I actually know what's working. A clean compile on your first try is just a fancy way of saying you aren't testing hard enough yet.

Walked into a used bookstore in Portland and noticed all their rebinds used Japanese stab binding instead of standard case bindings

Seconding this hard. My repair stack in Florida went from warped to flat after I switched.

Stumbled on a fiber optic cable spec sheet from 2002 and the numbers are wild

Old water peak fiber was the worst. Nightmare to splice.

Tried a budget hair color brand and my client's hair turned green

Dude that sucks so bad but honestly @shane_nguyen is right, this is just how it goes when you try to cut corners. It's like buying off brand ketchup or store brand cereal - sometimes you get lucky but most of the time you end up regretting it. I've noticed this happens with tons of stuff these days, not just hair color. People try to save a few bucks on phone chargers and they catch fire or mess up your battery. Same energy as those cheap extension cords that melt if you plug in a space heater. It's almost like there's a reason the real stuff costs more.
