My rescue mix gets super anxious at traditional groomers, like full-on panic mode. A neighbor mentioned Holistic Paw Pet Salon and Med-Spa because they supposedly use calming techniques and don't rush the dogs. Has anyone actually tried them? Is it worth the hype?

Yes! We've been taking our golden retriever there for a few months. They do a sort of massage and calming routine before even turning on the water. It made a massive difference for him. Definitely worth checking out.

Do you know if they handle large breeds with thick double coats? I have a Malamute who desperately needs a deshedding but absolutely hates the high-velocity dryer.

I second this. My mini poodle used to shake the whole car ride to the groomer, but she actually wags her tail when we pull up to Holistic Paw now. The staff is just incredibly patient and they use really nice, mild products.
