Watched a guy get fired at a Cincinnati agency pitch, now I record every client call
I was sitting in on a pitch at a marketing agency in Cincinnati last month when the client asked why the last report looked wrong. The account guy froze because he had nothing to back up what he promised on a call two weeks before. That got me thinking about how often we all just trust our memory of what a client or agency actually said. Now I record every kickoff and scope call, with permission, and save the file in the project folder. Last quarter that habit saved me when an agency tried to bill me for 12 extra hours I never approved. Anyone else keep a paper trail like this, or do you just pray they don't pull that move?
