Am I the only one who spent 8 months fighting AI writing tools before realizing my prompts were the real problem?
I run a small newsletter and started using AI to help draft posts back in January. For months I kept getting these stiff, robotic results and I blamed the tools, switching between 4 different ones and getting mad each time. Last Tuesday I pasted one of my prompts into a doc just to look at it, and it was 6 words long like 'write about email marketing tips.' No wonder the output was junk. I started writing 3 to 4 sentence prompts with an example of my own writing style attached, and the same tool that 'failed' me for months now gives me drafts I barely have to touch. My last 5 posts took 20 minutes each instead of 3 hours. So yeah, the tool was never the issue. How long are your prompts when you ask AI to write for you, and do you paste in samples of your own voice?
