inThree year old Samsung fridge finally died last week in Austin - should I repair or replace?
Honestly $650 to fix a three year old fridge that's already dead? I'd probably just buy new. Once the compressor goes that fast, who's to say something else won't pop up in another year or two. Plus you'd have a warranty on the new one and it might even be more energy efficient. Just my two cents though some people swear by fixing their old stuff.

inWarning: that one week in June where every client had a reaction to the same product line
My buddy runs a small salon and had this happen with a deep conditioner last spring. About six of her regulars came back within two days complaining of burning scalps and flaking skin. She pulled the whole batch off the shelf and tested it herself on a small patch of arm - same reaction. Turned out the supplier had changed the preservative system without telling anyone and it was basically unstable after a few weeks on the shelf. She had to call every single client who bought one and it was a nightmare of refunds and apologies. Your mileage may vary but I swear sometimes these quality control issues hit in waves because the bad batch gets spread around in a short window before anyone notices.

inSaw an old barn frame in Vermont that blew my mind
You ever just stare at something and wonder how people built stuff without calculators or lasers? I had the same feeling when I helped my uncle take apart an old carriage house in New Hampshire. That thing was from like 1810 and every joint was hand cut, pegs everywhere. The angles they got with just a square and a marking gauge... it's humbling honestly. I spent a whole afternoon just tracing one of the pegs with my finger, trying to picture the guy who carved it 200 years ago.

3 new leaves on my bottom watered peace lily... and 2 drowned ones on my top watering attempt.

Read somewhere most data breaches come from phishing not sticky notes anyway.
