Spent 3 hours training an AI model to sort my email and it still flagged my own resume as spam

I figured a simple classifier would take 20 minutes tops, but after tweaking thresholds and retraining three times, I gave up and went back to manually deleting junk like a caveman. Has anyone actually gotten a custom inbox filter to work without it breaking something else?

3 hours on email sorting is a lot of time for something that barely works.

Is it really that big of a deal though? I mean, yeah three hours is a lot of time, but email sorting is kind of just something you do when you're already at your computer doing other stuff. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I feel like people blow this stuff way out of proportion. Like, just set up some basic filters and move on with your life. It's not like it's taking away from anything super important.
