That AI-composed song on the radio has me split

Heard a new tune that used AI for the melody. Some folks say it opens up new creative paths. Others worry it kills the soul of music. Curious what this community thinks.

That synth-pop tune on KROQ last Tuesday used AI for the bassline. It shows how tools can help artists try new sounds without starting from scratch, but I get why people miss the human touch in lyrics and feeling. Some producers say AI speeds up the boring parts so they focus on the vocals and story. Do you think we'll see more AI in chart hits this year?

Ugh, I heard that track. The bassline did have that weirdly perfect, plastic feel. Solidarity with missing the human touch. Honestly though, AI making basic parts is already normal. Half the synth presets on pop songs are basically auto-generated. We'll definitely hear more, but the hype is bigger than the change. Most listeners won't even notice until the lyrics get truly hollow.

AI writing melodies for radio songs is blowing my mind. Umaf20 mentioned it speeding up boring parts, but this is different. When machines handle the core tune, what's left for the artist? It seems like chart hits could become soulless if we let AI take over. I'm not against tools, but this feels like a step too far.
